Create a spreadsheet with Day in A1 and Cups of water in B1. Observe three days or use three clearly labelled classroom observations. Enter labels in A2–A4 and measured counts in B2–B4. Identify the second count cell.
Task 3
Draw a bird’s-eye playground scene with two swings and a bench. Give a partner a description of one swing without a grid. Then add a labelled grid and give a reference-based description. Record what became clearer or what still needed detail.
Task 4
Draw a picture in four columns and three rows of 1 cm squares. Copy it to a matching grid of 2 cm squares. Mark three corresponding points and give the new grid width and height.
Task 5
On a north-up A–F,1–6 grid with rows increasing upward, start a token at D2 facing west. Act out forward two,turn right,forward three. Record the finish cell and facing direction.
Task 6
On the same north-up grid, a route from A2 to D4 is written east two,north two. Trace it, find the actual finish and repair the instructions in one way.
Task 7
Make two grids: a map with row 1 at the bottom and a spreadsheet with row 1 at the top. Both have columns A–D and four rows. Mark C3, then mark the cell directly above it in each system.
Task 8
On a north-up A–E,1–5 grid with rows increasing upward, mark C2 as blocked. Draw two routes from B2 to D2 that avoid it, give compass instructions and compare their number of moves.
