Unit focus

  • Fraction parts must be equal parts of the same whole. Halving once makes halves, halving again makes quarters and halving again makes eighths.
  • Use this routine: Whole → Halve → Halve again → Name parts.
  • Watch for unequal parts called halves: Ask whether both parts are exactly equal.
