Foundation Practice Note

Formal memorisation of multiplication tables is not expected as a Foundation Mathematics outcome.

For younger learners, these activities are best used as optional exposure to equal groups, repeated patterns, skip counting and simple multiplication language.

The same quiz template can then be reused for later year levels by activating additional multiplication tables in the configuration near the top of this file.

How to Use the Quiz

Ask students to complete one short set regularly rather than a large number of facts at once.

Encourage children to explain how they know an answer. They may use skip counting, equal groups, repeated addition, known facts or patterns.

Students can use Review answers after each attempt to revisit mistakes before trying another random set.
