Name, represent and order numbers

Learning goal: Connect a real quantity, a visual model and a written numeral, then use number order and one more/one less from 0 to 20.

Materials: blocks/counters, number cards 0–20, visible 0–20 number line.

  2. Show 14 and ask for the number before and after.
  3. Count 0 → 20, then 20 → 0.

Double counting: Move each object once as it is counted.

Teen reversal: Rebuild 14 as 10 + 4 before writing it.
