- Worked example: Read the whole printed word, then reread the sentence. If you read “sang” for “sprang”, check the p and r before trying again.
- Common mistake: Fast reading alone is not fluent reading. Keep the words accurate and group them so the meaning is clear.
- Assessment guidance: Some items ask you to choose a reading correction. For oral-reading tasks, read to an adult who checks the words, phrasing and meaning; saving a response leaves it pending review.
