- The surface question. ‘Nicest’ is a preference unless a clear criterion is agreed.
- Accept a stated surface with a relevant experience-based reason; the prediction need not later be correct.
- For example, ‘Will the cylinder or ball roll farther down the same low ramp?’
- It lets you compare what you expected with what was observed.
If help is needed: A prediction is made before the test and includes a reason. An observation reports what actually happens.
