Time: years, months, weeks, days and hours
Use familiar events, calendars and repeating sequences to decide when things happen and which time unit makes sense.
Quick preparation
- A week has 7 days; the week repeats after Sunday.
- A year has 12 months; January follows December.
- Use hours for short parts of a day, days/weeks for longer events, and months/years for much longer events.
- On a calendar, dates in the same weekday column are 7 days apart.
Think before you choose
Ask two questions: How long does the event last? and Where does it sit in the sequence? Use the calendar or timeline one step at a time.
