Year 1 Science helps children move from simply noticing the world to describing patterns, features, materials and changes more carefully. They begin to use observations as evidence and communicate what they discover.
What students work on

Science needs observation, not just facts
A useful science question asks students to look, compare, predict or explain. Encourage children to say what they observed before telling them the scientific answer.
